About Us

During their last two years as art students at Washington University in St. Louis Jenny, Joey and Janelle shared a lovely little apartment. Times were simpler then. In May of 2009, after 2 years of elaborate family dinners, 11 collective hours of hip hop music video “research,” 348 haphazard craft projects,1 historic craft room avalanche, and a worrisome overabundance of yellow squash, the three friends tearfully packed their things.  They went their separate ways.  Jenny remained in St. Louis to pursue an interest in creative reuse.  Janelle moved to Brooklyn to begin her career in photography and film.  Joey set sail for Manhattan to try her hand at puppet making.

It was a productive year for all, but the J’s longed to reunite.  After exhausting all other options, they came to the decision that there was no other way to do so besides letting go of all their responsibilities, belongings, and the comforts of their communities to explore the country on two wheels!  St. Louis, where the three had made their home together, seemed like a perfect starting point.

On their journey from St. Louis, MO to Portland, OR, Jenny, Joey and Janelle hope to find and create many works of art – small and large, stationary and mobile, edible and less edible, for keeps and for gifting – along the way. They hope that by making on the road they can not only capture the memories of their trip in unique ways but also engage with their journey on a more profound level by finding ways to satisfy their natural need to create.
